Episode 84 of the Irregular Warfare Podcast is our fourth installment of the IWI Project on Cyber where we look at Steven Feldstein’s book The Rise of Digital Repression: How Technology is Reshaping Power, Politics, and Resistance.
Our guests delve into what digital repression is and how authoritarian regimes are using new technologies to control their populations. They then look at how resistance groups engage with oppressive regimes and combat new challenges. After that our guests discuss how digital repression affects democracy, and how information warfare intersects with digital repression. Finally, they discuss how the irregular warfare community can help resistance movements combat digital repression.
