David Maxwell

David Maxwell is a retired US Army Special Forces Colonel and the Vice President of
the Center for Asia Pacific Strategy. He has spent more than 30 years in Asia as a
practitioner and specializes in Northeast Asian and Korean Security Affairs and
irregular, unconventional, and political warfare. He commanded the Joint Special
Operations Task Force Philippines during the war on terrorism. His final assignment
was as a member of the National War College military faculty. Following retirement, he
was the Associate Director of the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University.
He is on the Board of Directors for the Committee for Human Rights In North Korea and
the OSS Society and is an editor-at-large for the Small Wars Journal.
