Elizabeth Grasmeder

Dr. Elizabeth Grasmeder is senior officer in the US Government specializing in China’s foreign policy, and adjunct professor of the practice of national security at Duke University. She has held prior academic fellowships through West Point’s Modern War Institute and Office of Director of National Intelligence, and her award-winning scholarship has been published in International Security, The Washington Post, and War on the Rocks. Her book project investigates why modern governments recruit foreigners into their militaries, and her article projects examine covert action, wars of state survival, and territorial conflict.
