Grant Reynolds
Major Grant Reynolds is an infantry officer in the British Army with over fifteen years of operational and strategic experience across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Commissioned in 2010, he has completed deployments in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and multiple regions of Africa and the Middle East, with much of his career dedicated to building the capacity of partner security forces in complex and fragile environments.
Major Reynolds has undertaken two operational tours with the US led Special Operations Force responsible for countering ISIS in the Levant. During these deployments, he worked closely with a broad network of regional partners, contributing to multinational efforts to enhance local force effectiveness and advance shared security objectives.
His professional and academic interests centre on proxy warfare, security cooperation, and modern conflict dynamics. He recently completed a master’s degree focused on proxy warfare, where he examined the role of Iran and the UAE combining both state and non state actors in contemporary conflict.
Major Reynolds is currently employed as the Chief of Staff in the British Peace Support Team (Africa), based in Nairobi, Kenya. The team is responsible for providing partner countries across Africa with the capacity and capability building required to deploy on UN and African Union operations.
