Kyle Atwell is an active duty US Army officer, an instructor in the Social Sciences Department at West Point, and a doctoral candidate in security studies at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. His operational experience includes assignments in North and West Africa, Afghanistan, South Korea, and Germany. He has also held positions at NATO Headquarters in Brussels and the United States Mission to the United Nations, and worked for two California state legislators. Kyle is currently a Nonresident Senior Fellow in the Forward Defense practice of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and a Council on Foreign Relations term member. He is a former Center for a New American Security Shawn Brimley Next Generation National Security Leaders fellow as well as a fellow at the Princeton Center for International Security Studies. Kyle received bachelor of arts degrees in economics and international relations from the University of California at Da is and a master of arts in public affairs from Princeton University.
