Nick Dockery

Maj. Nicholas “Nick” Dockery is a Special Forces officer, a United States Military Academy (USMA) alumnus, and a General Wayne Downing Scholar. He is an active voice in military and cyber policy, including work with the Pentagon’s Irregular Warfare Strategic Design Group and the Office of Defense Coordination in Madrid, Spain. His operational experience spans across Central and South America, and notably, he served as the aide-de-camp to the 1st Special Forces Command commanding general.
He has received the USMA Alexander R. Nininger Award for Valor at Arms, the US Army General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award for exemplary leadership in Special Operations, and was named 2022 Soldier of the Year by the Military Times Foundation. He holds a master’s in public policy from Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs. For actions in combat, Major Dockery received two Silver Stars for Valor and two Purple Hearts for wounds.
In addition to working with the Irregular Warfare Initiative, Nick is a research fellow with the Modern Warfare Institute.
