Richard D. Newton

Richard Newton is a retired USAF Air Commando, combat rescue helicopter pilot, and combat aviation advisor. He volunteers as an editor for, and occasional contributor to, the Air Commando Journal and the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs, while also researching and writing about air power, irregular warfare, and special air warfare in conflicts short of war. He is a graduate of the USAF Academy, holds a masters degree from the US Army School of Advanced Military studies, and earned a PhD in Defence Studies from King’s College London.
