Tobias Bernard Switzer

Tobias Bernard Switzer is an Adjunct Senior Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation and an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security. A retired USAF colonel who served as a special operations helicopter pilot, a combat aviation advisor, and a foreign area officer, Tobias was formerly an Irregular Warfare Initiative Fellow and a Senior Military Fellow at the National Defense University and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He has numerous counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Central America and has published articles on security force assistance and air advising. He holds a BS in mathematics from the University of Chicago and an MS in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where he was an Olmsted Scholar.
